Gene Tierney. What a legend.

The man who wouldn’t look at Ava Gardner

Ava mentions in her autobiography the story of this Guard outside Buckingham Palace in London. Ava tried to draw his attention, she circled him, made jokes, danced in front of him, but the guard resisted the urge successfully and never looked at her, some time later she met his daughter at the airport, she came up to Ava and told her about the day her father met Ava Gardner.

Guardsmen are epic.

This design is sublimely beautiful.

I will emo heart it to show I approve.

“In the New Testament, we never see Jesus hanging out, chillin’ in an easy chair while Matthew fans Him with palm branches and Peter feeds Him peeled grapes. Every account describes Jesus living in an overwhelmingly generous way with his time, presence, wisdom, resources, compassion and of course serving. He aggressively sought to serve humankind, even to the extent of enduring the cross.”

Just call me angel of the morning, angel, just touch my cheek before you leave me…

…on second thoughts you’re a hulking big piece of iron. Leave my cheek be.
